An interesting feature of Paris is the way they stamp the date on the asphalt whenever they fix a whole in the ground.
I assume that this is useful from the infrastructure management point of view, but it also lays the ground for an inner-city pastime. I find it fascinating to check the dates I walk on. It is like peeling off the history of the urban landscape layer by layer.
Trying to find the oldest date (newest, most peculiar, your birthday, etc.) is like a city game anyone who has time to walk around can play. If I was more active, I would probably start a web page where people could post photos of their dates with coordinates (if there isn’t one somewhere already).
The design award of the week goes to the city of Paris for paving the way for this urban dating game.
